After nearly 30 years in Seattle, Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos is moving to Miami.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram post Thursday night, the billionaire said he\u2019s moving to Florida to be closer to his aging parents and to the Cape Canaveral, Fla., operations of his space company, Blue Origin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve lived in Seattle longer than I\u2019ve lived anywhere else and have so many amazing memories here,\u201d Bezos said. \u201cAs exciting as the move is, it\u2019s an emotional decision for me. Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, Bezos, 59, bought a $79 million, seven-bedroom mansion on a private island in Biscayne Bay, two months after buying the house next door for $68 million. He has other homes, too, including in Washington, Manhattan and Maui.<\/p>\n

Bezos currently ranks as the world\u2019s third-richest individual, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with a fortune of about $161 billion.<\/p>\n
